BAT VIETNAM IS LOOKING FOR LEGAL COUNSEL, CORPORATE SERVICES
SENIORITY LEVEL: Management Level
FUNCTION:Legal & External Affair (LEX)
SALARY RANGE: Competitive market salary + Bonus scheme + Excellent benefits
LOCATION: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Acting as commercial counsel to the Corporate Services function, providing legal opinions, advising legal/regulatory issues, preparing/finalizing legal documents for day-to-day works
- Structuring, negotiating, drafting, and advising on execution of Corporate Services transactions
- Providing guidance on application of Group policies, procedures and governance
- Participating actively in problem-solving and decision-making in all areas of the business
- In charge of compliance issues (standards of business conducts, contract management policy, etc.) for the Company
- Providing supports and/or back-up to other legal counsels in legal department where relevant
- Representing the Company in litigation in relation to corporate services (if any)
- Playing an active role within function to build and sustain an effective ‘One Team’ concept
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working for law firms/consulting companies or in similar roles within multinational corporations.
- Bachelors Degree in Law or any related field from a recognized law university
- Experience of working in Corporate Services/Compliance is a plus
Technical skills:
- In-depth understanding of the legal framework applicable to the tobacco industry
- Proficiency in commercial laws, including contract law, investment law, commercial laws, intellectual property law (trademark law), land law, banking law and labor law
- Familiarity with the taxation system & regulations of Vietnam
- A sound understanding of process of enactment of legislation
- Good understanding of commercial aspects
- Project management skill
- Good spoken and written English
