LEGAL COUNSEL – FIXED TERM

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

British American Tobacco is looking for a hardworking, highly motivated Legal Counsel with a positive, can-do mind set to join our Legal department based in Istanbul, Turkey, for a fixed term to lead and conclude certain projects.

For this position, you will be responsible for teaming in and leading certain local and global projects, ensure the timely and duly delivery of legal and compliance responsibilities in relation to such projects in accordance with BAT’s business needs, local laws and internal procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

In relation to certain projects;

  • Ensure company’s compliance with local legislation and internal policies/procedures.
  • Provide proactive business legal/compliance support and counselling to relevant business departments.
  • Manage internal stakeholder meetings, arrange trainings.
  • Draft or review different types of legal documents where necessary.
  • Advise, follow-up and create solutions for duly conclusion and sustainability of the projects.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • University Degree in Law
  • Maximum 5 years of experience in a private legal practice or in a corporate environment
  • Business English proficiency
  • Excellent computer literacy and presentation skills
  • Ability to convince and influence.
  • Persistence in achieving the proposed objectives, even under complex or adverse conditions.
  • Insightful, pro-active, collaborative and consultative.
