ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?  

  • Responsibility to support the delivery of effective process linkage in the entire business,
  • Identify opportunities and reduce overall costs while improving the service delivery,
  • Lead the reduction of write-offs,
  • Lead initiatives to reduce/optimize working capital and inventories,
  • Perform constant reviews to ensure competitive advantage for the company by managing a transparent, flexible, and efficient supply chain,
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence business decisions,
  • Share responsibilities with stakeholders over the globe keeping accountability of the overall E2E supply chain.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contribute to the development and review of overall company policy, planning, strategy, and business development plan.
  • Provide a strategic supply chain vision and direction in actionable terms and ensure its implementation. Ensure alignment with BAT Global Supply Chain strategies and systems.
  • Develop and implement a supply chain plan that maximizes the company's market/brand volume and value performance through the support and loyalty of BAT customers in retail trade.
  • Lead and maintain the Business Continuity Plans for supply (production relocation, alternative sourcing).
  • Structure a transparent, flexible, and efficient supply chain development system in order to ensure availability of finished goods is in line with brand strategies and the needs of the market whilst supply chain costs and working capital are kept at the target level.
  • Manage financial accounts and assets to ensure that supply chain resources are secure and used most efficiently and effectively by applying continuous cost-control mechanisms. Develop and propose appropriate capital expenditure and when agreed ensure effective implementation to satisfy the company’s short and long-term needs.
  • Be familiar with BAT’s and other industries’ supply chain solutions, and systems and take those which best fit the market’s requirement, lead creation of business case, and ensure implementation of agreed actions.
  • Understand and anticipate internal and external customers’ needs. Seek for and utilize customers’ input in the design of services, programs, products, and projects.
  • Develop performance-driven culture and a culture of coaching.
  • Act as a role model for the supply chain organization in continuously living the values of the company and by being performance / target-oriented.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

Experience Required

  • Strong experience preferably within an FMCG supply chain environment (>10 years) across a range of disciplines.
  • High level of ‘best practice’ knowledge is required within the business of supply chain, and related processes.
  • Proven business change management competence.
  • Knowledge of operational excellence and lean management models.
  • Exposure to diverse cultures and working environments.
  • Experience in driving transformation across different teams, and proven track record of achieving success through others.
  • History of digital development and implementation (desired, not essential)

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Understand financial KPIs (NTO, APFO, Working Capital, etc)
  • Strong influencing and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent relationship skills and the ability to work across functions, regions, and different nationalities and cultures.
  • Ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the often-disparate members of the project teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, explaining complex concepts in simple terms across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to identify areas of continuous improvement and find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
  • Logical thinker with a practical outlook leading to pragmatic proposals and decision-making.
  • Ability to take a step back and analyze the bigger picture, connect the dots, and understand implications across different areas.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel.
  • Ability to build and manage diverse teams.
  • Strong demonstratable leadership capabilities, for example:

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • University level education (supply chain related major could be an advantage)
  • Working experience in the field of supply chain management, technology, or related subject
