British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR TECHNOLOGIST – ENABLER in Southampton

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?   

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to join an FMCG FTSE 100 company, looking to support the business program to shape the rapidly growing BAT product portfolio.

The purpose of this role to is support the Toxicology team with administrative activities necessary for the successful functioning of the Toxicology team. The role will conduct work activities as allocated by Toxicology manager to improve efficiencies in the day-to-day working of the team.

What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?  

The role will be a key contact for planning and allocation of work requests to the Toxicology team. The role will be a critical contact for external supplier correspondence and will be responsible for the accurate and timely management of supplier information within our Toxicology and Compliance systems. The role will assist in the internal coordination of Toxicology information with our Regulatory Compliance teams, to enable smooth integration of Toxicology data and Regulatory engagement. The role will be required to resolve problems or challenges defined by management by developing new working procedures/methods to improve team efficiency.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Be an enabling partner to the Toxicology team, conducting administrative activities and assisting in the processing of work requests.
  • Maintain and build effective working relationships with internal partners, suppliers, and designated contacts within BAT.
  • Be a knowledgeable team member who can navigate planning and portfolio management systems effectively and efficiently.
  • Apply keen problem-solving skills to organisational challenges and work collaboratively with the Toxicology and Enabling teams to identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies.

What are we looking for?

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work both as a team member and independently.
  • Positive ‘can do’ and keen problem-solving attitude.
  • Proficient computing skills to facilitate use of in-house database and skilled user of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrable flexibility in adapting to new tasks and changing priorities.
  • Relevant previous experience, and education up to A-level (or equivalent).
  • Degree-level education in a scientific subject is advantageous but not essential.
