ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The Senior Business Analyst primary role is to partner with the Global Procurement team to support the delivery of the Digital Procurement roadmap.

Reports to: Global IDT Procurement & Sustainability Manager

Reporting Level: Individual Contributor

Geographic Scope: Global

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• Supporting the Global Procurement IDT Manager to identify functional potentials and value opportunities in line with the Architecture principles for Procurement solutions.
• Manage the backlog of continuous improvement initiatives for the Source to Settle platform and other Procurement related platforms and solutions.
• Provide Business Analyst capabilities for initiatives within Procurement where needed to support the Procurement Digital Roadmap (e.g Data & Analytics, Supplier Risk Management, ESG, Supplier Relationship Management, Contracts Compliance).
• Work with internal teams and SI’s to deliver the Digital Roadmap, ensuring delivery is to scope.
• Analysis and documentation of issues and requirements for Global Procurement platforms. Working closely with Global Process Leads, and Key Users to shape requirements and options. Accountable to ensure alignment with changes needed for local and regional platforms.
• Overseeing implementation of solutions – checking against the initial requirements.
• Identifying and addressing issues impacting the execution of strategic / operational / project plans.
• Managing internal and/or external resources to drive delivery of changes to existing Procurement platforms, or for the identification, assessment, selection and deployment of new Procurement related solutions and platforms.
• Provide leadership to peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers, and others; identifying and initiating projects; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team accountable for results.
• Assess business process & system inefficiencies and identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive) including identifying ways to increase adoption and user satisfaction

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Experience Required:

• IT professional with, 5-7 years  demonstrated ability in the field within international environment 
• Experienced Business Analyst/ Scrum master and with  data and analytics
• Experience of either Procurement Systems OR Source-to-Settle (S2S) process
• Experience of managing a complex partner landscape
• Experience working as a part of, and ability to shape and lead, Global and Regional programmes and projects.
• Shaping and leading technology enabled optimisation and user experience projects. Awareness of RPA, Mobile, user driven / self-service analytics tools, collaboration solutions, etc.
• Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Information Systems and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

• Good communication skills, ability to relay complex technical issues in business speak and to deal with Global Leadership teams.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with working knowledge of agile practices.
• Proactivity and initiative, a ‘can-do’ attitude, and the ability to work unsupported.
• IT professional with business-facing IT experience in a global environment.
• Ability to analyse processes and data to draw insight and find opportunities.
• Business-facing IT experience in a global environment, preferably with a degree in an IT-related field.
• Ability to interpret the business IT and functional strategies, understand the Group operating model, and the implications actions in one area have on other functions
• Demonstrable ability to work with senior team members and business sponsors at all levels.
• Extensive and substantial practical experience in contributing to and interpreting business process management and business metrics.
• Understanding and practical application of project management and System Software Development lifecycle methodologies i.e. PRINCE2, Agile etc
• Understanding of industry technology trends and associated benefits in application to BAT’s overall business strategy.   
• Strong commercial and analytical approach with the ability to balance this with a pragmatic style, to engage with all.
• Ability to build effective networks both internally and externally and work closely with others to achieve a common goal.
• A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long-term risks and implications.
• Time to 100% productivity: 4-6 months
